Here is my latest mix titled ‘MANSION’. Its a rapid, mind numbing journey to the summit of my ADHD, with splashes hope and adultery.

Yeah, I’m not a very good writer, so just take a listen and tell me what you think. It’s got a good variety of the tracks I like to play on the big room house spectrum. Nothing on this mix is gonna make you want to relax on the couch and think of your 5 year plan, this mix is going to make you want to get a redbull and vodka, get sweaty and probably fist pump Karate Chop Pump in front of the closest speaker or dj booth. This mix is being presented by BLUEPRINT events, which if you didn’t know, are the largest and best event promotion company in Vancouver, and also great people I might add. So here’s the mix. I’m sorry for the lack of updates and blog postings. Looking that my last post was like 6 months ago is kinda embarrasing, but whatever. Things move more slowly at times and then too fast at others. Right now life is pretty good. I started a great new job doing design for one of the biggest show producer/promoters in Vancouver, BluePrintEvents. A real good team of people bringing all kinds of great music to Vancouver. But lets get back to what I really care about.. GREAT FUCKING MUSIC.

So now I present to you my newest mix. ISOSCELES. This mix is part 2 of the SEA2SKY series. It is a compilation of great music, new and old, that lays an interesting audio-scape, as you wander through space. I was inspired to make this deeper mix for all my friends that listen, play and make great fucking music.

SAM DEMOE // SHAMBHALA 2010 x SEA.2.SKY

I’m going to start this post by proclaiming that SHAMBHALA IS THE BEST ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL! So many interesting stages, faces, people, and festival grounds, the soundsystems and lighting are unreal. This was my second year attending and my first year playing. I had the pleasure of DJ’n for the BBOY Battle in the Ewok Village on Saturday August 7th and it was really really really fun. Due to some pranksters dyeing the river Fluorescent Green right before the battle was about to start, the place was climbing room only.. seriously.. some estimates were around 1000 people checking it out.. ( I think around 600 is about right. ) Check out these shots.

Being that it was my first battle I have ever played, I was a little bit nervous, but I had the old school classics, some new school breaker jams and some gems I wanted to test on the dancers. Things went so smooth and before I could even get right into it the crowd crowned the winner. ( I can’t remember that name, but I thought that SIMBA shoulda took it. ) A really great experience and hopefully a stage I’ll get to play again sometime. Special thanks to Erica Dee for organizing and great Hip Hop showcase this year and for being a great MC and entertainer in general. If you don’t know about this girl, google that shit yo.

And last but not least, I made this little mini mix to give out to the good people, dj’s and wierdos I met at the festival and on the trip up. Now I give it out to you all. Hope you Enjoy, and feel free to spread it out to your people.

I made this LIVE ( 2 techs, ttm57sl & Me ) throw-back HipHop mix in January 2010 right before the REDBULL 3Style battle to give out during my set.. iTOUCH MIDI x WIFI

Jesus!.. it seems like everyday I find out something even cooler about my Iphone. Its time to get to know ITOUCHMIDI. Basically, this app turns your Iphone/Itouch into a wireless midi controller for most DAW and DJ programs.. Its available for WIN & MAC, and I succesfully tried it on Logic 9 and Serato 1.92 ( MAC ). Im not sure the exact benefit of having this for gigging is.. but it definitely appeals to my super music computer programming nerd side. The only downside I can forsee is that it runs over Wifi, so if your spot or gig doesn’t have a good wifi signal you are S.O.L.

I guess I can blast an Airhorn when I’m in the bathroom at gigs now.. or fuck with someone who is using my computer to play tunes…

KEV FRESH x GHETTOBLOGIN

Above is my Kiwi homie KEEEEEV FRESH. He’s a good mate, likes his lager, likes to dj, makes mixes and knows all of the dialogue from Lord of the Rings. PUMP UP THE VOLUME

This Documentary is a great watch. So many colorful characters talking about what was REALLY going on behind the scenes. The clubs, the music, the raw energy and the fucked up situations that created such a huge music genre. A style of music that pretty much helped mold most musics that came after it.
